Getachew Reda, President of the Tigray Region Interim Administration, said that the infrastructures built and under construction in Mekelle City are a model for other areas of the region.

Infrastructure projects built at a cost of more than 2.7 billion Birr in Mekele City were visited today.

The 76-kilometer gravel road that connects Mekele City with 25 rural villages around it, the Meles Bridge, the Mekele Hospital and the renovated school were part of the tour.

Infrastructures of great value built and under construction by the Mekele city administration in the fiscal year; Ato Getachew Reda stated that they show that it is possible to do many things in a short period of time.

The president said that implementing a plan based on public interest in a short period of time will give the people a sense of belonging. He said that we are expected to carry out projects that have ensured public participation with quality and speed.

Deputy Mayor Elias Kahsay of Mekelle City Administration in the Tigray Region Temporary Administration said; ESA reports that the development projects visited by the president have created permanent and temporary jobs for 17 thousand people.
