Addis Ababa, EU Ambassador Roland Kobia stated that the European Union will continue to strengthen its relations with Ethiopia.

 

Ambassador of the European Union in Ethiopia, Roland Kobia, gave an explanation to the journalists regarding the 72nd "Europe Day" which will be celebrated tomorrow.

 

In their explanation, the ministers of foreign affairs of the member states of the union held a meeting and expressed that the ministers of the union passed a decision that confirmed Ethiopia's main partnership of the union.

 

Following this, he explained that various agreements are being implemented to strengthen Ethiopia's key partnership in East Africa and work on political, economic and social issues.

 

Mentioning that Ethiopia is a country with a long-term and historical relationship with the Union, the Ambassador said that the Union appreciated the efforts made to peacefully end the war in northern Ethiopia.

 

He mentioned that the alliance will restart the bilateral and international programs with the Ethiopian government and that it will continue the political dialogue with the government bodies at all levels.

 

He said that the alliance will help the Ethiopian government to take concrete steps in line with the international human rights standards and regulations and help the people to live peacefully.

 

In addition, the ambassador said that the union is working to make humanitarian supplies accessible and pointed out that Ethiopia has a large share in the European market.

 

He explained that Ethiopia has been working with the Union for many years and will continue to strengthen it.

 

He pointed out that, especially in European countries, he has been working to create a strong partner in other matters, including tax-free export of Ethiopian products, but this is not enough.
