An adjustment was made to the retail price of fuel products in the capital

 

The Ministry of Trade and Regional Relations has announced that there has been an adjustment in the retail price of fuel products in Addis Ababa.

 

The information sent by the Ministry to Fana Broadcasting Corporation indicates that the price adjustment will last from 6:00 PM on April 24, 2015 to May 30, 2015.

 

Accordingly:

 

Gasoline ---------------69 points 43 Birr per liter

 

White diesel ------------ 71 points 08 Birr per liter

 

Kerosene ---------------71 points 08 Birr per liter

 

Airplane fuel ------------ 66 points 60 Birr per liter

 

Light black diesel ------------ 57 points 84 Birr per liter

 

Heavy black diesel ------------ 56 points 50 Birr per liter is stated to be sold.

 

It is said that according to the decision of the Council of Ministers, the vehicles that benefit from the targeted fuel subsidy will not have to pay additional fuel prices in this round, so the amount of subsidy they will get will increase.

 

Based on this, it is mentioned that when the new price is implemented, the amount of subsidy for petrol users, which was previously 17.22 birr, will increase to 25.47 birr.

 

It is said that the price of diesel will increase from 22.68 Birr per liter to 26.46 Birr per liter.

 

The minister also announced that there will be no increase in the public transport fare.

 

Therefore, he urged the government structure and security agencies at all levels as well as the society to play a role in proper monitoring and control.
