The head of the Oromia region, Mr. Shimels Abdisa, said, "On behalf of myself and the region, I would like to express my gratitude for the successful history of planting more than 500 million saplings in one night."

 

I believe that this generation will be one of the heroes that will not disappear from history, said the head of state in a message posted on his social media page.

 

On his part, the head of the Southern Region, Mr. Rustu Yardau, thanked the residents of the region who accepted the call by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) to plant 500 million saplings overnight nationwide.

 

He also thanked those who led the sapling planting program, coordinated it and participated in making the process successful.

 

The head of the government of Sidama, Sadama Ledamo, said, "We will strengthen and continue the green footprint program in order to continue our lives in a better way."
