It has been more than a year since Nyala Insurance, a mobile phone insurance called Mobile, has been launched, and Bisrat Radio has heard that more than 13 thousand people have been insured for their phones so far.

 

Girma Milkesa, Head of Digital Services of Nyala Insurance, told Bisrat Radio that it is the first phone warranty service in Ethiopia.

 

The official said that the company's service is provided to smartphone users. Nyala Insurance provides phone insurance in three price rates and payment levels, one birr per day for mobile phones costing 5 thousand birr, 25 cents per day for phones worth 5 thousand to 10 thousand, and 10 thousand to 15 cents. For handsets costing thousands of birr, one birr and 50 cents will be deducted from the customer's airtime every day in cooperation with Ethio Telecom.

 

In the new year, Mr. Girma added that the insurance company is completing the works to start offering phones that cost more than one hundred and thirty thousand birr with other payment options. Information indicates that many mobile phones are stolen during robberies and extortions in different areas of Addis Ababa during the day.
