Mayor Adanech Abebe officially inaugurated Legedadi Chapter Two Water Project today.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Adanech Abebe thanked the Creator for starting and ending this challenge.

Addis Ababa and its neighbors cannot live without each other, he said, adding that Addis Ababa receives more than 85 percent of its water supply from the surrounding Oromia Special Zone.

Engineer Zerihun Abate, General Manager of the Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority, on his part said the city's development has greatly increased the demand for water.

He said the project, which was inaugurated today, is the largest groundwater project in the country.
