Mayor Adanech, who attended the ceremony, conveyed the message that Demera festival has greatly contributed to making our city a preferred city for visitors; He said that it is one of our biggest culture that introduced our country to the world.

He also said that it is a great festival that unites our people, where love, friendship and solidarity are expressed.

If human beings could learn true love from the love of Jesus Christ on the cross, all the challenges in the world would be solved, the mayor said.

Therefore, he said, we all have to change from hatred to love, from pressure to closeness, to think for people beyond ourselves by learning from the work of the cross.

When we celebrate this holiday, we are working to ensure our lasting peace with love, celebrating our heroes, confirming our bravery, and strengthening our unity. They also conveyed a message that we should continue to be victorious while shining a light on everything that is dark for us.

At this time, Ethiopia needs the love of all its children, the mayor said, so we believe that as a country with children who are paying the price for its truth, sovereignty and national interests, it will continue to persevere and overcome all the challenges it faces.

On the other hand, I would like to assure you that we will continue to work together with the oldest Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in peace, development, national interests and respect, just like we do with all religious institutions, the mayor said.

They assured that all appropriate support will be provided for any charity activities that the church does.
