A monkey is caught alive -- for a pet, performing animal act or zoo, presumably -- in footage dating from 1912. The information about the original film tells us that the method shown is the native way of doing this: white people normally simply shoot to injure the monkey rather than kill it. The "whites" in the film are just that, dressed in their spotless colonial gear, after a good afternoon's fun ; ) The frantic struggles of the trapped monkey are shown without comment, but were presumably there to be laughed at because of its "cupidity"!

The giant Sinoma international company, which is involved in the cement sector in China, has stated that it wants to build a cement factory in Ethiopia.

 

The special envoy and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Federal Reserve in China, Tefera Tefera, met Mr. Lu Yan, the chairman of Sinoma International Company and the director general of CNBM Institute, and his colleagues at the company's head office in Beijing.

 

During the discussion, Ambassador Tefera thanked the company for its contribution in the design and construction of the cement factories in Ethiopia, and stated that the demand for cement is increasing in view of the size of construction in Ethiopia.

 

Ambassador Tefera added that considering the high demand for cement in Ethiopia, if the company engages in the investment sector, it will be of great mutual benefit.

 

They called on the company to participate in the investment forum to be held in Addis Ababa from April 18 to 20, 2015.

 

Mr. Lu Yan, for his part, pointed out that cement and steel are important resources for the development of a country, and said that he has the idea to build a factory in Ethiopia that will not have a negative impact on climate change using the best technology of the time.

 

According to the information of the Ethiopian Embassy in China, the head of the company accepted the call from the embassy and said that they will send a team to participate in the investment forum.
