Addis Ababa, November 19, 2015 (FBC) Armenia's ambassador to Ethiopia, Artem Aznauria, has stated that Armenia will continue to work together with Ethiopia in peace, democracy and social sectors.

 

The Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs of the Federative House of People's Representatives discussed issues that strengthen the people's brotherhood of the two countries with members of the Armenian Parliament.

 

Ambassador Artem Aznaurian stated that it is an action supported by the peace process taken by the Ethiopian government to peacefully end the war in the north and assured that the two countries will continue to work together in peace, democracy and social sectors.

 

The ambassador said that they will work together to strengthen people-to-people friendship between Ethiopia and Armenia.

 

Alexey Sandikov, a member of the Armenian parliament and member of the Ethio-Armenian friendship group, said that the relationship between the two countries has been strong since the 18th century and that it is important to strengthen the parliamentary relationship now.

 

Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs, Dima Negwo, said that a friendship group will be established to improve the relations between the two countries, which have existed since ancient times, and will work to further strengthen the relationship.

 

The information we received from the council indicates that Ethiopia is a country that has received many Armenian citizens who were exiled due to the Second World War.
