Oromia Transport Agency donated 27 three-legged vehicles to unemployed youth who graduated from universities and colleges.

The Oromia Transport Agency has donated 27 three-legged vehicles to unemployed youths who have graduated from universities and colleges.

 

The agency, in cooperation with driver vocational training institutes, has graduated 840 students from various universities and technical and vocational colleges who are from low living standards by training them as drivers free of charge.

 

According to the director general of the agency, Mr. Jamal Kedir, the agency is working on creating a program in which students who have graduated from various higher education institutions can get job opportunities and earn a living in addition to facilitating the delivery of transportation services.

 

He said that in cooperation with driver training institutes, he trained about 840 graduates for free and obtained driver's license.

 

According to ESA, 540 of those who trained and got their driver's license in this free training program are women.

 

It has been stated that the agency has coordinated the driver training institutes and purchased 27 three-legged vehicles at a cost of more than 9.2 million birr and contributed to 54 unemployed youths who are in low living conditions.
