An agreement was signed for a project to convert plastic waste products into construction materials

 

Addis Ababa, August 2023: A support agreement was signed for the implementation of a project that can generate up to 12 million dollars and save foreign exchange by turning plastic waste products into construction materials.

 

The agreement was signed by Dieta Fozia Amin (Dr.), Advisor to the Minister of Innovation and Technology, and Adil Abdullah (Dr.), the founder and owner of Adil Technology and Innovation Center.

 

The Ministry believes in the importance of the technology and has requested the relevant stakeholders to provide the necessary assistance for the project.

 

The Ministry's information indicates that technology dockage and plastic storage area, importation of industrial products necessary for the project and other issues are the support that the organization needs.

 

The agreement between the Ministry and the Adil Technology and Innovation Center is said to be aimed at solving the problem of environmental pollution caused by plastic waste products using innovation and technology.

 

The Ministry of Innovation and Technology has stated that there is more than 380 thousand metric tons of plastic waste in Ethiopia and only 10 percent of it can be reused.
