The 52nd Ethiopian Athletics Championship will be held from May 8 at the Ethiopian Youth Academy.

The Ethiopian Athletics Federation made a statement regarding the competition.

In the statement, it is said that the purpose of the Ethiopian Athletics Championship is to measure the status of athletes in their training and to help produce replacement athletes.

In addition, the Ethiopian Athletics Federation has announced that athletes will be selected to represent Ethiopia in the World Athletics Championship to be held in Budapest, Hungary.

He indicated that more than half a million birr in prize money has been prepared for the athletes in the championship and the federation has allocated a budget of more than 2.7 million birr for the competition.

The federation announced that a total of 1,270 athletes of both sexes from 11 regions, two city governments, 30 clubs and institutions will participate in the championship.

It has been stated that athletes who come from first to eighth in the competition will be selected to participate in the time trial to be held in Hawassa to represent Ethiopia for the 19th World Championship.

The 52nd Ethiopian Athletics Championship will last from May 8 to May 13, 2015.

The 51st Ethiopian Athletics Championship was held in Hawassa City and it will be remembered that Maqil Sports Club was the overall winner of the competition.
