Wachmo and Mizen Tepe Universities graduated their students

 

Addis Ababa:  Wachmo University Durame Campus and Mizan Tepe University have graduated more than 1,500 students in various programs.

 

The University of Wachmo graduated 273 undergraduate and graduate students from the Durame Campus.

 

Of the students who graduated from the campus in the 5th round, ÷ 13 are graduates for the first time.

 

State Minister for Irrigation and Lowlands and Chairman of the University Board, Dr. Berhanu Lengiso, said the current situation in the country has led to a number of emotional decisions.

 

He said you have a big responsibility to solve problems by keeping up with the latest technology.

 

The President of the University, Dr. Habtamu Abebe, on his part said the university is working to further enhance its achievements in becoming an agricultural center of excellence.

 

He said the coffee, avocado, potatoes, maize and teff are currently benefiting farmers in Hadiya and Mbata Tebero Zones.

 

He said the university is breeding dairy cows, especially in urban areas.

He also said that he is working to make 10 preferred universities in 2017 and become a special destination in tourism, especially in the field of medicine tourism.

 

Wachmo University graduated 1,510 students at various campuses yesterday.

 

At the same time, Mizan Tepe University graduated more than 1,300 students in various fields of study for the 14th time.

The President of the University, Dr. Ahmed Mustafa ተናግረዋል said the university is working to modernize the ICT infrastructure to make its teaching and learning process more efficient.

 

He also said that in the field of research, attention has been paid to indigenous knowledge and an institution has been established to work in collaboration with modern science.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Tsegaye Mamo, Government Spokesperson of the South West Ethiopian People's Region, said the graduates should prepare themselves for another struggle without saying "everything is over when you graduate".
