Dan Jorpensen, Minister of Development Cooperation and International Climate Policy, said that Ethiopia's attention to reducing air pollution and environmental protection is an example for other countries and Denmark is also given special respect.

 

The Minister had a discussion with the Minister of State for Planning and Development Mr. Sandokan Debebe at Friendship Square.

 

Mr. Sandokan Debebe, who visited the friendship square for the minister, said that the work of beautifying Addis Ababa and protecting the rivers from waste, which was started by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, has changed the appearance of the city and created satisfaction for the residents.

 

The Minister of State explained that the work is being expanded to other cities as well.

 

Mr. Sandokan said that more than 25 billion different saplings have been planted in the green footprint program in four years, which is changing the country's ecosystem and has created more job opportunities for citizens.

 

Minister of State for Planning and Development Ato Sandokan Debebe, who raised the fact that the work being done to meet domestic consumption and export by producing irrigated wheat in summer, is an effective action under the support and supervision of the Prime Minister. Denmark's Minister of Development Cooperation and International Climate Policy, Dan Jorpensen, said that Denmark appreciates Ethiopia's efforts to prevent climate change.

 

The minister said that the work is an example for other countries, and the information we received from the Ministry of Planning and Development indicated that his country would support this.

 

Ethiopia's focus on climate change in its 10-year development plan or domestic economic reform shows its unwavering stance towards the sector, the minister said.
