Mayor Adanech Abebe inaugurated clean drinking water projects that benefit more than half a million residents and opened them for use.

 

The water projects will increase the city's daily water production and distribution as well as sewage disposal capacity. There are 25 water wells up to 500 meters deep that can provide 67 thousand cubic meters of water per day.

 

The water wells have been equipped with electro-mechanical works, 31 km of water lines of various widths and storage tanks with a capacity of up to 1500 cubic meters, which will increase the city's daily water production capacity to 792 thousand cubic meters.

The construction of 138 km of sewerage and 40 km of water transmission lines of different sizes for communal houses has been completed and is ready for use.

In addition to water production and distribution, a water and sewage laboratory has been established to ensure the safety of water distributed to the community and has been prepared for use.
