According to the Minister of Culture and Sports Ato Kejela Merdasa at the same time, one of the biggest religious and cultural celebrations in Ethiopia is the Cross Demera festival.

He mentioned that the festival is endowed with various spiritual and cultural values. He pointed out that it is widely celebrated by Ethiopians.

He said that the cross has been recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a world heritage beyond Ethiopia.

The minister mentioned that the festival of the cross teaches love, togetherness, help, unity and peace; Following the teachings of the festival, they said that we should be united in love and live together in peace, ESA reported.

Ato Kejela also said that it is necessary to work for the peace and unity of Ethiopia by overcoming challenges with patience, dialogue and forgiveness.
