The foundation stone has been laid for the construction of the Yara Fertilizer Factory and the Godey Fuel Refinery.

The Godey Fuel Refinery is reported to have an annual production capacity of 3.5 million tons.

Following the laying of the foundation stone, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stated on his social media page that a historic milestone, which all Ethiopians can be proud of, has been achieved.

The Prime Minister stated, "We have laid the foundation for the Yara Fertilizer Factory, which is being built by the Ethiopian Investment Holding in partnership with the Dangote Group, and the Godey Fuel Refinery, which is being constructed by the Golden Concord Group."

It is stated that the Godey Fuel Refinery, which will extract, process, and store fuel from the Hilal oil field, has an annual production capacity of 3.5 million tons.

In his post, the Prime Minister added that the fertilizer factory will extract gas from the Calub gas field and, using a 108-kilometer transport pipeline, will produce and supply 3 million tons per year.

The Prime Minister said these projects represent more than just industrial growth, stating that they are a demonstration of a shared responsibility to seize opportunities, strengthen collaboration, and sustain peace.
