An authority to oversee and manage Addis Ababa’s riverside projects and corridors has been established.

 

We have heard that the city administration has established an authority to oversee and manage the riverside and corridor development works that have been completed so far and are currently underway. 

 

The 21.5 km riverside project, which is the first of its kind in Addis Ababa and is currently under construction, from Entoto to Peacock Park, has reached 90 percent completion, said Ato Walelig Desalegn, Deputy Executive Director of the Addis Ababa Public Recreation Areas Management Corporation and Deputy Coordinator of Addis Ababa River and Riverside Corridor Development. 

 

The entire work is expected to be completed by the end of October.

 

He also said that the riverside project will continue to operate without interruption after the establishment of an institution to oversee and monitor the work.
