Bunna Bank has introduced a system that allows fuel payments to be made using any mobile phone and without the internet.

The bank is said to have launched the digital payment system in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and Logistics.

The payment system that Bunna Bank officially introduced today; It was also said that it will make its own contribution, especially by reducing long queues at gas stations.

Tafesework Nigusse, Director of the Digital Banking Directorate of Bunna Bank; said that so far, we have transacted about 12 million birr through this system.

The bank explained that users of the service can make fuel purchases using Bunna Bank; By using the confirmation message received from the gas station by dialing *820#, by logging into the ‘’Abol Mobile Banking’’ application, by scanning the QR code on the phone, or by using the Reference Number system provided by the gas station.

The payment system, which Buna Bank launched from scratch and officially launched today, is one of the options to improve the transparency and efficiency of the fuel supply chain nationwide, said Salman Mohammed, the National Targeted Fuel Subsidy Project Coordinator at the Ministry of Transport and Logistics.

The bank, which has already launched this service at selected fuel stations, plans to expand it to all fuel stations in the country.
