In the mentioned years, 315 athletes participated in international competitions, 35 gold, 9 silver and 20 bronze; He said that 314 athletes participated in international competitions and won 66 gold, 41 silver and 27 bronze medals. They indicated that a total of 238 medals were found.  

 

However, since the results recorded in the participation in Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games are low compared to previous years; He said that it is a matter that requires special attention to develop and implement a clear system without interference in order to rectify gaps in terms of recruitment, training, organization and related issues, and to provide adequate professional support and monitoring to help the effectiveness of the training.

 

He said that in the last four years, the federation has collected nearly 600 million birr from various sources and used it according to the financial system.  

 

The president added that in order to solve the problem of training ground to a certain extent, the federation in collaboration with the city administration of Geletafo Le Gedadi has built and put into operation a 1.6 kilometer sand pavement and a 400 meter sand track at a cost of more than 14 million birr. They said it was possible.

 

However, as the problem continues to worsen and the track of the Ethiopian Sports Academy, which we have been using in cooperation, is out of use due to the lack of service, the matter has been given special attention and there is an urgent need for more tracks that meet international standards.
