Lemat's legacy is significant in ensuring food security and building a strong economy: Ato Adam Farah

Adam Farah, the Vice President of the Prosperity Party, said this when he was in Bonga town of Kafa zone in the South West Ethiopian People's Region and launched Lemat's legacies.

The delegation led by Mr. Adam Farah observed the honey production of Apennik Agro Industry, Bonga Poultry Center and Abaynesh Farm located in Bonga City, and it was stated that experiences should be collected in an organized way.

According to Adam Farah, Vice President of the Prosperity Party, all stakeholders must fulfill their responsibilities in order for the Lemat Legacy Movement to be successful.

He said that as many development works have been done in the past years through Green Footprint, Summer Sunde and implementation of projects, it is necessary to repeat it with Lemat Legacy Movement.

He said that self-sufficiency in food is closely related to the sovereignty and honor of the country and said that for the effectiveness of the sector, the leadership should fulfill its leadership role already.

He said that the region is blessed with natural resources, precious minerals, animal and bee resource development, as well as the potential of crop development, so the management should work diligently to contribute to the universal prosperity by properly developing these resources.

He said that it is necessary to provide capacity building support to farmers and pastoralists as well as associations with the help of knowledge, skills and technology in order to facilitate the legacy of Lemat.

The Deputy Governor of the region, Dr. Engineer Negash Wagesho, said that the commitment of the leadership is crucial to smoothen the legacy of Lemat, which was started as a country, and to bring tangible results in a short period of time.

The Head of Government said that the program of the Lemat Heritage Movement focuses on self-sufficiency in food and pointed out that the implementation of the sector's goal should be done through cooperation and unity.

He stated that he will pay due attention to the enabling conditions in the region and work diligently to achieve the regional goals of Lemat's legacy by leading the movement.

He said that the management is required to work with special attention in order to transform the actual potential of the agricultural and pastoral areas into results and to benefit from Lemat's legacies.

The deputy head of the state and the head of the agriculture office Mr. Masresha Beleh presented a document about Lemat's legacy and discussed it.

He said that the management and the professional should work together so that the people can benefit from Lemat's legacy.

He said that the potential wealth of the region should be transformed into tangible results by working together and contributing to the economy of the region and the country.
