BEAKA Total Commercial Private Limited and Shakman, an international automotive manufacturing company, are about to start assembling heavy machinery and vehicles in Ethiopia.
The joint launch program of the two companies was held at Friendship Park in Addis Ababa.
Speaking at the event, Michael Kasa, managing director of BEAKA's total business, said that the work of assembling machinery and vehicles will be done in collaboration with Shakman Group.
The director reminded that the implementation agreement was divided into three implementation phases. In the first round, we will assemble 1,500 heavy vehicles and offer them to the market.
In the second phase, he mentioned that the plan is to install 3 thousand vehicles per year.
He said that in addition to vehicle assembly and production, knowledge and professional skills transfer and manpower training will also be done.
ESA reported that among those being assembled, Cassoni, Lobed, sewage cargo vehicle and Hybed are heavy vehicles, and they said that they will start offering them to the market after 45 days.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Industry Melaku Alebel, executives of Shakman Group and other senior government officials.
