Ethiopian athletes won the first day of the junior and youth athletics competitions held in Ndola, Zambia.
In the 3,000-meter women's under-20 race, Ethiopian athletes finished 1st to 3rd and won.
As a result, athlete Asmarech Anley won the gold medal in first place, athlete Newa Mebetu won silver medal in second place and athlete Ainadis Mebartu won bronze medal in third place.
In the women's race of 1,500 meters under 18 years, athlete Aslef Amare placed 3rd and was awarded a bronze medal.
