Oromia Bank launches app to lend without collateral

Oromia Bank has launched an app called “Miliqi” that allows customers to borrow from the bank without any collateral. 

 

The bank launched the app in collaboration with Quantum Technology, which will allow its customers to borrow without collateral; it will make a significant contribution to realizing Digital Ethiopia.

 

Oromia Bank has launched the app for those who have difficulty obtaining loans due to lack of collateral, said the bank’s CEO, Teferi Mekonnen. 

 

The Milliki app offers various loan options; the CEO said that it was designed with a special focus on women.

 

The CEO said that customers can borrow up to 300 thousand birr. 

 

It was reported that more than seven thousand users were able to obtain loans through the Milliki app within one month, including a three-month trial period.
