Addis Ababa: 14 schools were closed

#Ethiopia | In 2016, 444 pre-primary schools in Addis Ababa applied for the renewal of their accreditation, and according to the evaluation, 361 schools met 75 and above and their accreditation was renewed, according to the Addis Ababa Education and Quality Control Authority.

 

 However, five schools were closed due to being below standard. The information released by the institution indicates that 78 schools did not meet the standard as expected, but were allowed to continue for one year with a warning.

 

  In 2016, 245 elementary and middle schools in the city administration submitted a request for renewal of accreditation. In the evaluation, 211 schools met more than 75 percent and their accreditation was renewed. 

 

3 schools were closed because they were below the standard, and 31 schools did not meet the standard as expected and were given a warning to continue for one year only.

     

Regarding the secondary level, in 2016, 68 secondary schools in the city administration submitted a request for renewal of accreditation, and according to the assessment, 53 schools met 75% or more and were renewed.
