Research has shown that the first phase of the corridor development project in Addis Ababa has reduced the amount of traffic congestion, and parking has become a problem.

It is said that the study was done by the ETC Institute, which made its deposit in the United States, in collaboration with the Addis Ababa City Transport Bureau and Shaka Analytics.

What do the residents of the city say about the #corridor development in terms of transportation? The researchers said that 420 people were interviewed in a small study to find out.

The selected corridor route is four kilometers from the piazza, four kilometers from Bole Bridge, four kilometers from the British Embassy and four kilometers from Mexico City.

Among those who responded to the survey, 32 percent use taxis, 30 percent use buses, and 23 percent drive their own cars.

Most of the study participants or 65 percent said that the corridor project has reduced #traffic_congestion.

73 percent said they had improved access and places within a five-minute walk of their homes.

The researchers told us that the Addis Ababa Transport Office and the city's traffic management are aware of the study.

However, the institutions were not present at the forum where the study was announced. But the results of the study are said to have been given to them.
