Yango Announces New Partnership Models for Local Business Owners to Strengthen Ethiopia’s Digital Transportation Ecosystem!

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – March 2018: Yango Ethiopia, a global technology company, Yango Group, held a partnership event at Skylight Hotel for potential and interested parties. The event brought together entrepreneurs, investors, and business owners to explore potential partnership opportunities in the rapidly expanding digital transportation ecosystem.

At the event, stakeholders from various fields showed great interest and enthusiasm to participate in the sector, with a large number of participants from businesses related to automotive, logistics, and transportation. The discussions focused on investment opportunities, partnership structures, and the role of the private sector in expanding Ethiopia’s growing digital transportation market.

During the event, Yango introduced three partnership models: the Connector model, which focuses on driver sourcing and community management; the Fleet Partner model, which allows investors to manage and control their own vehicles; and the Hybrid model, which combines both approaches by simultaneously managing the transportation service and expanding the relationship between drivers and the user community.

Yango demonstrated an approach that supports entrepreneurship and encourages entrepreneurs to participate in Ethiopia’s growing transportation sector by creating a flexible and scalable partnership ecosystem. “Local partnerships play a fundamental role in the sustainable expansion of digital transport services. By implementing flexible partnership models, we continue to facilitate opportunities for entrepreneurs to create a conducive working environment that supports daily urban mobility. We strive to create an ecosystem that supports business growth, brings new ideas and improves the accessibility of urban digital services in Ethiopia by combining local capacity and expertise with global technology,” said Dr. Yeqenalem Abebe, Yango’s representative in Ethiopia.

To ensure the provision of quality and sustainable services, Yango has detailed requirements for entities wishing to participate in the partnership. One of the most important of these is a valid Ethiopian business license and a proven track record. Under the model, partners are expected to hire sufficient staff and develop a coherent structure or have sufficient financial capacity to provide transport services.

Yango announced that it will provide support to partners beyond the models. This includes, in particular, understanding customer needs, finding alternative ways to find drivers, and using real-time online task management technology to help with the process. The company also highlighted the additional opportunities that electric vehicles are creating in the ecosystem, which it says will lead to improvements in cost and revenue, as well as operational performance.

This initiative is part of Yango’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with local businesses in Ethiopia and establish a widespread and convenient transportation service network.
