Addis Ababa, December In Oromia region, the commercial office of the region has announced that essential consumer goods are being provided at reasonable prices for the coming Christmas and baptism holidays.

 

The head of the office Mr. Daniel Chernat made a statement regarding the supply of basic consumption items for the Christmas and baptism holidays.

 

In his statement, he said that it is being done in coordination with the relevant parties so that there is no shortage of basic consumables for the festival.

 

Based on this, all zones in the region have set up a committee to oversee problems in the business system.

 

 They mentioned that more than 5.5 million liters of edible oil was marketed at the regional level for Christmas and baptism festivals.

 

He said that in terms of price, 5 liters of oil used to sell for more than 840 birr, but it is being offered for the holidays from 522 birr.

 

At the same time, the official said that 38,000 quintals of sugar will be marketed for the holidays and the price of one kilo has been decided to be between 57 Birr and 67 Birr.

 

They said that more than 680,000 slaughter animals have been brought to the market by establishing ties with suppliers.

 

He explained that onion, egg, chicken, wheat flour and other ingredients have been set up in 102 Sunday market centers so that the consumer can buy directly from the farmer and the producer.

 

Ato Daniel explained that the committee formed in all zones is doing strict control to prevent unnecessary price inflation following the holidays.

 

He asked the community to realize that there is enough supply for the holidays and to shop calmly at reasonable prices.

 

They also called upon traders to point out to the concerned parties when they see traders who increase the price of the products unnecessarily above the fixed selling price in every area.
