The Ministry of Labor and Skills announced that it has achieved only 24% of the foreign currency it planned to generate from citizens sent abroad for work through agencies.
The Ministry made this statement today during the presentation of its nine-month performance report to the House of Peoples' Representatives.
The Minister of Labor and Skills, Muferiat Kamil, stated that the Ministry aimed to bring in 472.5 million USD but managed to achieve 113.4 million USD, which is 24% of the planned amount.
The 113.4 million USD was obtained from citizens sent abroad by 943 agencies, the Minister explained.
The report also noted that legal action has been taken against 221 agencies that failed to submit their reports.
On another note, regarding the rights of citizens working abroad, 804 complaints were received, of which 719 have been resolved through mediation, while 85 are still in progress.
