Geda's special economic zone project is being consulted on the options to streamline the logistics sector.

The consultation is being held in the presence of officials of the special economic zone, regional logistics consultants, representatives of the World Bank and private institutions.

At the forum, studies on the experiences and practices of countries that have built special economic zones and achieved economic growth are being discussed.

Geda Special Economic Zone, which is said to be the first in Ethiopia, is said to be a huge industrial zone between the cities of Mojo and Adama that rests on 24 thousand hectares of land.

The project includes a free trade zone, industrial parks, commercial facilities, logistics centers, a school and a residential village.

It will take 40 years to complete the project and the construction process will be done in different phases.
