The launch program was attended by Ethio Telecom CEO Frehiwot Tamru, Bishop Alemayehu Asefe, the mayor of the city and invited guests.

In the last six years, the institute has been benefiting its customers from various technologies that are used internationally.

He mentioned that Ethio Telecom is working to make digital Ethiopia a reality and pointed out that the contribution of (5G) service to the growth of the country's economy and job creation is significant.

He said that the fifth generation mobile network service launched in Bischoftu city will create another technological potential for the city on its natural beauty.

He stated that Ethio Telecom is working to build the smart office and said that the fifth generation (5G) mobile network service is part of this.

He stated that the fifth generation (5G) mobile network is expanding in many cities and in the 2017 fiscal year, 15 cities in the country are being worked on to use the (5G) mobile network.

He mentioned that Ethio Telecom is carrying out activities to increase productivity and improve the lives of citizens and announced that more than 51 million customers have benefited from Tele Birr.

He explained that Ethio Telecom has made more than 400 cities the users of the 4th generation mobile network service and currently has 79 million mobile service users.
