The government officials of the region, including the head of state, Yalkal Kefalen, visited the cultivated wheat field on 1 thousand 379 hectares in Gerba Kebele of the district.
In the district, 11 thousand 375 hectares have been cultivated in Kuta, of which 500 thousand quintals are expected to be produced.
As the head of government Lalaal said during the visit, the harvest and hard work of the farmers is an indication that we can be self-sufficient in food and we can supply wheat to the foreign market.
He also stated that this result was obtained by subsidizing the purchase of fertilizers to the farmers.
