 The Addis Ababa City Administration Rule Enforcement Authority has announced that it has taken action against more than 263,000 rule violations including land invasion and illegal trade in the past 6 months.

 

The General Manager of the Authority, Major Zerihun Tefera, told Fana Broadcasting Corporation that many operations are being carried out to prevent illegal activities in various sectors of the capital.

 

Based on this, they raised the necessary control over land invasion, illegal trade, destructive activities, illegal advertisement and slaughter and other inappropriate activities.

 

He said that in the last six months, 5 thousand 641 areas in all sub-cities were reclaimed and used for the benefit of the people.

 

On the other hand, he explained that action has been taken against 35 thousand 154 illegal traders in different areas of the city.

 

They explained that action has been taken against 626 bodies that carry out effective activities around schools in the capital.

 

In addition, in Addis Ababa, in an unusual way, they have raised the arrest of 1 thousand 726 persons who use various drugs in large hotels.

 

In the past, action has been taken against more than 204,000 traders who post substandard illegal advertisements in various places and report them.

 

In general, the authority has taken action against 263 thousand 907 entities that violated the rules in various sectors, including land invasion and illegal trade, the general manager said.

 

He said that he will work in coordination with the relevant bodies to prevent such rule violations in the future.
