#Ethiopia The 28th International Conference on Climate Change (COP28) today approved the historic "Emirates Agreement".

 

COP28 President Dr. Sultan Aljaber stated that representatives of 197 countries approved the agreement at the conference.

 

This agreement, which was approved today after days of negotiations, is said to allow countries to avoid non-renewable energy options.

 

The 21-page agreement includes an integrated agreement that will allow countries to phase out non-renewable energy options such as oil, gas and coal.

 

On the other hand, it was also pointed out that the agreement will implement sustainable solutions to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and prevent the global temperature from rising above 1.5 degrees Celsius.

 

The COP 28 summit, where an agreement was reached for the first time on the issue of coal, was unique from previous summits in many respects and was historic, BBC reported.
