The Ethiopian Academy of Sciences has elected Dr. Binyam Chakalu as a fellow of the academy in the field of health science.

 

#Ethiopia The Ethiopian Academy of Science (ESA), a merit-based society of eminent scholars and research scientists, elected Dr. Binyam Chakalu, who is the Vice President of Research and Technology Transfer of Gondar University, as a fellow of the Academy in the field of health sciences.

 

In the letter, the academy said, "Recognizing their outstanding research activities, the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences has chosen them to be a fellow of the academy under the health science working group for their outstanding contribution to the profession and the international community."

 

Dr. Biniam said, “I am honored to be a Fellow of this prestigious Academy. I will always strive to do more with the academy and serve my beloved country," he informed the academy.

 

 Dr. Binyam Chakalu, Associate Professor of Public Health Informatics, is the Vice President of Research and Technology Transfer at the University of Gondar. Dr. Binyam is the founder and leader of "eHealthLab.Ethiopia", a digital health innovation and research center established by the university to modernize health services; In addition, he has published more than 150 research publications and is currently an accomplished researcher implementing more than 10 projects supported by the World Health Organization (WHO), the "Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation" and other international funds.

 

Before returning to the University of Gondar, Dr. Binyam Chakalu spent more than 10 years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Vancouver, British Columbia, a research associate at the University of Münster, Germany, and pursuing his PhD studies.

 

The Gondar University community would like to congratulate our famous researcher and vice president for being elected as a fellow of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences and would like to encourage other qualified researchers to become fellows in the future.
