It was stated that there is no alternative solution to resolve the conflicts around the mosques in a sustainable manner.

Recently, a committee established by the Federal Islamic Supreme Council to talk closely with the parties involved in the problem of the destruction of mosques in some areas and to tailor a common solution, discussed with the Minister of Federal Peace, Mr. Bnalf Andualem.

Religious leaders from the Federal Majlis, Addis Ababa Majlis and Oromia Majlis were present at the Ministry of Peace office, Mrs. Lydia Girma, Head of the City Peace and Security Office of Addis Ababa City Administration, and Addis Ababa Police Commission Commissioner Getu Argau were also present.

The leaders who came from the Majlis stated that the committee was established to generate a solution and solve the problem in a sustainable manner by talking to any government body that is concerned with the problems faced in the area of Maskids.

Because the mosques in Sheger city of Oromia region were destroyed, they tried to incite a riot especially on two mosques in Addis Ababa city on two Friday prayer days. Due to the conflict caused by these parties, property and physical damage as well as human life have been caused. In this discussion, it was possible to understand that this unnecessary damage was completely inappropriate and that it was a problem that could have been avoided before it happened.

The representative of the Majlis said that as the members of the committee have stated in the discussion forum, any problems that arise will be resolved by close discussion and discussion.

The Minister of Peace, Ato Banalf Andualem, said at the forum that religious institutions are the guardians of peace and the foremost advocates of peace.

As the problems that have arisen are beyond the capacity of the religious fathers and the church, it is encouraged that this committee starts talking closely with the relevant government body.

Mr. Bnalf said that the main mission of this committee is to jointly find a solution to this current problem.
