An urban agriculture exhibition and bazaar was officially opened where products are offered at discounted prices.

 

On the occasion of Productivity Day, the Urban Agriculture Exhibition was officially opened in Piazza Square.

 

Senior government officials at all levels, including Mr. Zhantarar Abai, Deputy Mayor and Head of the Labor Enterprise and Industry Development Bureau, Mr. Bayu Shugute, Commissioner of the Addis Ababa City Agriculture Commission, encouraged the producers by visiting the exhibition where the products produced by local producers were offered at discounted prices.

 

 While visiting the exhibition and the bazaar, the Deputy Mayor said that although it has been a short time since the beginning of urban agriculture, its contribution in terms of the demand for consumer products and the ease of life of our people is very high.

 

By supporting the service, enterprise and industrial sectors in all aspects and increasing the production and productivity to the required level, we are required to carry out continuous coordinated activities at all levels and fulfill our respective responsibilities in order to make the overall development of our country a reality at the required level, said the Deputy Mayor.

 

He emphasized that by increasing urban agriculture to the required level and increasing the number of selling points in various areas of our city, we can also make the vast population of Addis Ababa accessible to urban agriculture produced here.

 

"Supporting urban agriculture will greatly contribute to improving the quality of life in our city, and the creation of market linkages at the required level is essential to ensure growth that takes our farmers into consideration," the deputy mayor said.
