The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia announced that it will work hard to make the digital fuel transaction accessible at the national level.

The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia has officially launched the digital fuel transaction that has been implemented across the country since today, May 1, 2015, at gas stations in Adama city.

 

The program was officially launched by the Vice President of the South West Region of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Dereje Fufa, and the Deputy Head of the Oromia Regional Trade Bureau, Tesfaye Goshu.

 

Dereje Fufa, Vice President of the South West Region of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia announced that in the last 10 days, more than 750 million Birr has been traded in the digital fuel trading that started in Addis Ababa on April 16, 2015.

 

Ato Dereje said that through the digital fuel trading service provided by the bank through CBE's Birr and 'Nedaj' application, more than 82 million Birr fuel transactions are underway every day.

 

Alson Asefa, Communications Director of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, who was present at the program where the digital fuel transaction was officially launched, said that in the last nine months, more than 2.1 trillion birr transactions have been done through the bank's digital payment options.
