The third phase of the national consultation will begin in May
It was announced that the national consultation commission will complete the first and second phase of the work and start the third phase of the national consultation in May.
The National Consultative Commission has submitted its report to the senior leaders of the House of Representatives and stakeholders regarding the activities it has carried out so far.
The Chief Commissioner of the National Consultation Commission, Professor Mesfen Araya, who presented the report, stated that since the establishment of the commission, it has been carrying out several key activities to ensure that the consultation process is credible, transparent, participatory and owned by the community.
He mentioned that there is great support and demand from the government, regions and citizens for the national consultation to be held.
He also explained that the core works of preparing clear operating systems, including various guidelines for identifying consultation participants, recruiting moderators and facilitators, providing training, gathering discussion agendas and formulating agendas, have been done.
The information we received from the council indicates that discussions have been held with regions, city administrations and relevant stakeholders and inputs have been collected on the operational systems prepared to conduct the consultation.
He pointed out that the process of the consultation should be inclusive and include all sections of the society and organizations in the agenda gathering so as not to raise the complaint that "I did not participate in the consultation".
On his part, the speaker of the council, Mr. Tagese Thafo, pointed out that the work done by the consultation commission so far is good and deserves recognition.
