Addis Ababa Traffic Management has announced that there will be festival goers entering all the entrance gates of our city for the Irecha festival which will be celebrated from tomorrow.

The Fire and Disaster Risk Management Commission has announced that a fire broke out in Kolfe Karanio sub-city district 01 at 10:34 p.m. in a place known as Zewde Meda, a special place in Koshe.

 

The accident occurred at a factory that used burnt oil for reuse, and five people, including a fireman, were slightly injured.

 

Emergency workers, the local community and the security forces worked together to prevent the fire from spreading to the nearby houses and causing more damage.

 

Ngatu Mamo, the public relations expert of the commission, told Bisrat Radio that 350 million birr worth of property was saved in this process.

 

10 fire control vehicles, 2 ambulances and 80 emergency personnel have been deployed to manage the disaster.

 

It is said that the place where the factory was built and the flammable oils it contained and the huge amount of burnt oil contributed to the fire.

 

Ngatu Mamo, the public relations expert of the commission, told Bisrat Radio that the factory is still a risk from the point of view of safety and it took two hours to fully control the fire.
