It will be recalled that recently the Department of Peace and Security of Gedeo Zone has warned those who are trying to create violence in the zone in relation to the question of territoriality. In this regard, it is known that they are passing various decisions to maintain the peace of the zone. As a result, two-wheeled vehicles will not be able to move in the zone for an indefinite period of time, Abraham Mekuria, the head of the communication affairs department of the zone government, told Bisrat Radio.

 

We have also heard that the federal and state security agencies have stepped in to avoid the security threat that could be created in the Gedeo zone. Residents of Dila told Bisrat Radio that the city's activity was peaceful in the morning.

 

Residents said that the business shops were closed in the early morning. They also stated that there was a lack of public transport vehicles from Dila city.

 

In a statement issued by the government of the zone, it was announced that there are elements that are trying to create security problems in relation to the question of regionalism. It is believed that federal and state security forces will be present in the zone to prevent this.
