Addis Ababa, October 26, 2015 (FBC) Since the peace agreement reached between the government and the HH has made the country and the people the owner of a joint victory, various sections of the society said that they will work with determination for the sustainability and implementation of the peace agreement.

Focusing on the implementation of the peace agreement organized by the Ministry of Peace, there was a discussion involving religious leaders, political party leaders, famous personalities and artists.

According to the Minister of Peace, Ato Bnalf Andualem, war is not always a solution to problems unless there are compelling circumstances.

They said that the agreement reached to peacefully resolve the war in the north, which caused great human and material damage and destruction, gave relief to the people and opened a historic chapter to return the country to development.

He said that it is an agreement that teaches that the problem of Africa can be solved by Africans and that it will be of significant benefit to close the chapter of the history of war, to support the affected parties, and to build national unity.

He said that for the implementation of the peace agreement, it is expected from all sections of the society, especially religious institutions, political parties, artists to play their role for the sustainability of the peace agreement.

He said that rebuilding the areas affected by the war, changing the victims to a healthy life, and strengthening people-to-people relations requires joint efforts and hard work by supporting them with money, ideas and knowledge.

He said that such discussions will continue in different parts of the country.

Among the participants of the forum Mr. Lilai Hylemariam, Mrs. Argesh Adane and Debesh Temeseng expressed that the peace agreement is an occasion that brings relief and victory to the people who have experienced the loss of the war.

In particular, he pointed out that the natives of Tigray have a great responsibility for the implementation of the peace agreement and said that they are committed to doing things that bring people closer to each other instead of hatred and competition.

Among the religious leaders, the General Manager of the General Office of the Patriarchate of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, Bezue Abune Abraham, the President of the Supreme Council of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa, and the President of the Union of Ethiopian Evangelical Churches, Pastor Tzadqu Abdo, religious institutions always preach peace for the country and the people. They remembered that they lived when they prayed.

 They said that it is a great news that a peace agreement has been reached so that the war can end peacefully.

He said that this agreement is an opportunity where all forces have surrendered for peace, not a one-sided victory, but a victory for the country and the people, and Ethiopia has found relief and healing.

Religious institutions and fathers confirmed that they will make comprehensive efforts to make the peace agreement come to fruition.

Chairman of the Joint Council of Political Parties, Dr. Mebratu Alemu, member of the Joint Council of Political Parties, Dr. Chane Kebede and Dr. Ageawi Berhe, presented the peace agreement for the rest of the country.
