The Mayor of Addis Ababa and the Chairperson of the Sports Council Mrs. Adanech Abebe stated that preparations are being completed to build a large sports center in Addis Ababa.

The conference which was attended by the Mayor of Addis Ababa and the Chairperson of the Sports Council, Mrs. Adanech Abebe, discussed issues that are considered to be challenges in the development of sports in the city.

 

Mayor Mrs. Adanech Abebe responded and explained the questions raised by the council members.

 

The mayor said that the sports community is playing a major role in the city by strengthening its interaction, so the support for the sector will continue to be strengthened.

 

The issue of the construction of a standard sports center, which is raised as a reason for the city's sports not growing as it should, and which has been repeatedly asked for many years and has not been resolved, was also answered by the conference.

 

The chairman of the sports council of the city, Mrs. Adanech Abebe, said that preparations for the construction are being completed.

 

The mayor also announced that the construction of the sports center will begin in the next fiscal year.

 

On the other hand, the mayor said that 60 sports venues have been completed in order to solve the problem of sports venues in the city.

 

The mayor said that she will continue to pay attention to all types of sports, especially since sports have a great power to change the image of Ethiopia, she said that it is necessary to focus on producing sportsmen who can represent their country on the international stage.
