A 30-day national road safety campaign will be held from tomorrow

Addis Ababa, The Road Safety and Insurance Fund Service has announced that a national road traffic control and awareness campaign will be held starting tomorrow for 30 days.

"I have a role to play in reducing the danger, we will reach from Pagumen to Pagumen!" The movement is conducted with the leading idea.

Jamal Abbaso, Chief Executive Officer of Road Safety and Insurance Fund Service, said that the preparations for the road safety campaign that will last from tomorrow until September 25, 2015 have been completed.

He added that Pagumen days have been specially prepared for road safety awareness campaign.

He pointed out that a control schedule has been prepared and said that the task of teaching and giving advice to drivers who have committed minor traffic law violations will be carried out.

He also pointed out that a discussion involving various sections of the society will be held on issues that can prevent traffic accidents.

They also stated that there is a program of donating blood for people who have suffered blood shortage due to traffic accidents, providing support to the families of traffic accident victims and providing medical supplies to Abet Hospital.

Federal Police Traffic Control and Accident Investigation Department, Head of Training and Advisory Service, Deputy Commander Isaac Tuke said that drivers should apply traffic laws appropriately to reduce traffic accidents.
