In the event of an earthquake in Addis Ababa, Mayor Adanech Abebe said that it was planned to organize a task force of experts and work together to take appropriate precautions.

"Recently, we have discussed with scholars from Addis Ababa University Institute of Geophysics, Space Science and Astronomy and the Geological Survey about the earthquake and tremors that have occurred in various parts of our country," the mayor wrote on her social media page.

"In the discussion, the academics presented studies," the mayor said, adding that the studies show that Addis Ababa is currently experiencing earthquakes due to the earthquake in Afar and the surrounding area.

However, since the city is vulnerable in the future, we have agreed to work together by organizing a task force of experts to carry out some precautionary studies so that the possible and appropriate precautions can be taken already.

It will be remembered that the earthquake that recently shook Addis Ababa has been repeated.
