A program of appreciation and recognition was held for those who contributed to the process of transporting soil fertilizer
The Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Sea and Transport Logistics Service Organization, held a program of appreciation and recognition for the stakeholders involved in the process of transporting soil fertilizer in the 2014/15 production season.
The Minister of Agriculture, Umar Hussain, said that in the last few years, a lot of work has been done on the supply of fertilizers so that farmers with small fields can get better yields and improve their livelihoods and production habits.
The Minister stated that the supply of fertilizers is making a significant contribution to the improved condition of the country's food sector and noted that the average use of fertilizers by farmers is growing by 20 percent every year.
He also explained that the global covid epidemic, the war between Russia and Ukraine, the inflation of fertilizer prices, the war launched by the terrorist TNG group in the country, and the problem of foreign exchange supply have prevented fertilizer supply from being used as needed.
It has been stated that the Ethiopian Sea and Transport Logistics Service Organization has played a significant role in supplying fertilizer from abroad to the country by sea and land.
The National Bank of Ethiopia, Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Regional Agriculture Offices, Maritime Service are among those who have been given appreciation and recognition awards.
