A campaign to produce air pollution-free jet fuel in the country has been launched: Ethiopian Airlines

Ethiopian Airlines has announced that it has started production of jet fuel that is free from air pollution in the country.

Ethiopian Airlines board chairman Girma Wake and the airline's CEO Mesfan Tase confirmed this during their meeting with ESA.

He also mentioned that the airline is in a position to achieve the plan set by the International Association of Civil Aviation Authorities to make all airlines' carbon emissions zero by 2050.

The chairman of the board stated that the airline is following the modern practices that are in step with the times by exploring the changing environment of the international aviation industry.

With this, he said, a study has been completed to produce jet fuel in the country that is not affected by air pollution.

He said that after the study, he started talking with the relevant government and private stakeholders.

For its success, Boeing, Airbus and Ayata aircraft companies are helping us, said Girma Wake, chairman of the airline's board.

Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airlines Group, Mesfe Tsewe, mentioned that they have started activities to produce air pollution-free jet fuel locally.

He explained that the airline is working closely with fuel suppliers and technology institutions.

Air pollution-free jet fuel is produced from feed by-products and avoids carbon emissions throughout the life cycle.

Air pollution-free aviation fuel derived from various by-products is called Sustainable Aviation Fuel.
