Ethio Telecom earned 33.8 billion birr in the last 6 months

 

Addis Ababa,  Ethio-Telecom announced that it has earned more than 33.8 billion birr in six months of the fiscal year.

 

The CEO of Ethio Telecom, Frehiwot Tamru, made a statement regarding the performance of the first half of the 2015 budget.

 

In his statement, Ethio Telecom achieved 96 percent of its plan by earning 33.8 billion birr in the middle of the 2015 fiscal year.

 

He mentioned that he was able to get more than 27.2 million customers and 166.1 billion birr transactions in six months and earn 82.5 million birr.

 

They explained that the earned income is 19.9 percent higher compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.

 

The chief executive, who stated that there is an increase of 5.62 billion birr, pointed out that 64.8 million dollars have been obtained from services that generate foreign currency.

 

When looking at the revenue share by type of service, voice service has a share of 47.4 percent, data and internet 28 percent, international income 8.4 percent, infrastructure rental 2.2 percent and other services have a share of 7.5 percent.

 

He pointed out that Ethio Telecom has increased its customers to 70 million in the last 6 months and has a growth of 15.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.
