A field visit and consultation forum for the implementation of Lemat heritage works in Southwest Ethiopia People's Region was held in Mizan Amman city.

 

Adam Farah, Vice President of the Prosperity Party, who was present at the forum and delivered a message, mentioned that it is necessary to make Lemat's legacy a culture in all areas of the region.

 

He mentioned that the management is expected to be able to ensure the prosperity of the family and the community by enabling each family to focus on the Lemat legacy.

 

He stated that it is necessary to work to create job opportunities for the youth by expanding the development activities which have been shown as good experiences in the region.

 

He said that the region has a favorable ecosystem that can ensure the prosperity of the national economy, so the leadership should coordinate the people and work with determination.

 

Mr. Adam stressed that efforts should be made to increase the value of the products obtained in the region to produce quality and competitive products that generate better income.

 

He stated that the management and the professional were able to work with determination and that they were able to bring about a change in Lemat's legacy and green footprint and said that this work should be continued.

 

They also mentioned that marketing system and information system should be properly organized by establishing an operational system.

 

The Deputy Governor of the region, Dr. Engineer Negash Wagesho, said that concrete results have been achieved in the region on Lemat's legacy.

 

He stated that Lemat's legacy is to ensure the food security of the farmers and pastoralists as well as the city dwellers' families, enhance economic capacity and stabilize the market.

 

He said that we need to work on the natural potential and enabling conditions in the region in a coordinated and comprehensive manner with special attention.

 

With the implementation of Lemat's legacy, concrete changes are being seen in terms of securing food and nutrition security and creating job opportunities for citizens, said Masresha Beleth, the Deputy Head of the State and Head of the Agriculture Bureau.

 

It was also stated that the Lemat Heritage Program in the region is being given attention to ensure food security by increasing the productivity of milk, eggs, honey and fish.

 

He explained that in the next 4 years, 504 milk production, 783 chicken breeding and 970 beekeeping villages are being identified in the region.

 

Mr. Masresha indicated in the report that 684 thousand one-day chicks, 31 thousand modern beehives and 150 thousand fish chicks have been distributed in the performance so far.

 

He said that he will work to make the large number of cattle, bees and other natural resources in the region effective by improving them with modern methods.
