Minister of Trade and Regional Cooperation Kasahun Goffe (Dr.) stated that following the issuance of foreign exchange management guidelines to fill gaps in the country's foreign exchange management, the government has made adequate preparations to control supply and price increases in basic food commodities.

The Minister said that the problem has been solved by discussing the problem between traders who import basic food commodities such as oil and sugar and the Ethiopian Customs Commission.

Therefore, the information we received from the ministry indicates that the minister has stated that the oil and sugar revenue held at the customs branch stations will be released and released to the market.

Following the issuance of foreign exchange management guidelines, strict action is being taken against traders who increase prices irrationally and create shortages by stockpiling products.
